ScareDSM CLOSED FOR 2020
Halloween season is just around the corner, and we have had an increase of inquiries regarding the status of our brand new attraction set to debut fall of 2020. With the continued uncertainty that Covid-19 presents, we have tirelessly tracked the entertainment and special amusement industry gathering information on health and safety measures being implemented by other parties.
From offering a timed ticketing and virtual queue line experience, the utilization of disinfecting sprayers, and Plexiglas or other physical barriers between staff and patrons, many measures have been taken in an attempt to provide a safe and sanitary experience for haunted attraction goers. However, none of these methods completely eliminate the potential transmission risk of Covid-19.
Because of this, several professional haunted attractions in addition to major amusement parks such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, have decided to cancel their 2020 Halloween operations.
With that, the organizers of ScareDSM have also decided to delay the opening of our attraction until fall of 2021. This decision did not come lightly, however, we accept our responsibility to keep our staff and patrons and will continue to demonstrate leadership in our community by making this difficult decision to place people over profits.
We are disappointed it has come to this however we believe that the health and safety of our staff and patrons is far more important than profits. And although we are disappointed we won’t see you all this October, we are excited to now have even more time to create a truly unique and terrifying experience for the masses.
